What is Reiki? Reiki (RAY-key) is a Japanese technique promoting holistic stress reduction and healing of the physical, emotional, and spiritual body through transference of universal life energy. The meaning of the word Reiki is appropriate to its mission as the Japanese rei means spirit and ki energy. This hands-on technique utilizes Reiki energy transfer between the practitioner and client through prescribed and intuitive hand positions.

What to expect at your Reiki Session
A Reiki session starts with a brief discussion on what the clients concerns are and what they hope to achieve from the visit.
The treatment time varies by request of the client but is typically between 30-90 minutes.
The client lays on a Reiki table (although treatment can be done seated or even standing).
The client remains clothed at all times.
Reiki energy flows from the hands of the practitioner into the client.
The practitioner places his/her hands directly on, or near, the clients body. A series of prescribed hand positions will be used in addition to those which specifically suit the clients needs.
The Reiki energy always flows to the area of the body in need of healing.
The only responsibility of the client, is to relax and enjoy!
I often use diffuse essential oils during or prior to sessions to enhance relaxation through aromatherapy. I will only do so with permission from my client as I am mindful of scent sensitivities.
